Sentosa

Singapore river flows through the heart of Singapore's central business district and it has always been a key feature of the island and city. Most of Singapore's nightlife is based in Boat Quay, Clark Quay and Robertson Quay.
The river is where Sir Stamford Raffles first landed in Singapore before founding the city and now the Raffles Statue marks the place where he landed. The statue is located in front of the Asian Civilisations Museum. The historical memory of the river is also remembered in Cavenagh Bridge now a pedestrian bridge connecting the cultural north bank and commercial south bank.
At the mouth of the river sits the Merlion - the symbol of Singapore, constantly squirting water into the estuary. The Merlion is a stature, half lion, half fish. Close to the Merlion is the Esplanade, a large theatre that is the home of Singapore's performing arts.
